We embrace sustainability. Organically sourced foods as well as our own produce fresh from our garden are our preference for all our meals.
Breakfast options
Our lodge offers two breakfast options:
• A breakfast basket delivered to your suite (12 hours notice required)
• A gourmet hamper delivered to your suite (24 hours notice required)
Please note that our homemade breakfasts are not included in your Suite price, leaving you the freedom to create your own breakfast or to order one from us.
All our Suites are fully equipped to enable you to prepare your own breakfast. If one day you wish to escape from our tasty temptations, this means you are more than welcome to do so!
If you would like one of our homemade breakfasts on your first morning, please order online in combination with your Suite and Excursion preferences.
Breakfast Basket in your Suite
Our Basket contains juice, fresh fruit, milk, bread, butter, honey, jam, cheese, cereals, yoghurt, fresh eggs and sweet pastry or cookies. We will bring your breakfast to your Suite the evening before. Price pp is NZ$29.00. Coffee & tea are always on hand in your Suite. These Breakfast baskets are available on a daily base.
Gourmet Hamper in your Suite
It contains all the goodies for a perfect start of your day: juice, smoothie, freshly baked bread, pastry or cake, a selection of homemade spreads, local cheeses, meat or fish, milk, cereals, gourmet yoghurt and fruit. Coffee & tea are always on hand in your Suite. We bring this breakfast to your Suite at the time you prefer (8.30am – 10.00am). You can enjoy your breakfast hamper inside in the privacy of your Suite or in real ‘holiday style’ on your outdoor deck. Price pp is NZ$39.00. Note that these special Breakfast Hampers are only available on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Gourmet platter
Our selection of platters is an ideal accompaniment to your pre-dinner drink or as an alternative dinner option after a long drive or full-on day of adventure.
Our platter includes a selection of local cheeses and a wide range of delicious tastings such as locally sourced smoked salmon, fish & French hand-crafted pates, salami, dried fruit, grapes, baby tomatoes, olives, gherkins, chutney, pesto and nuts. This is all served with a selection of breads, grissini and crackers. Price: NZ$45 per person (minimum 2 persons). Prebooking essential, the latest the day before and this before 10.00am.
Local restaurants
There are a number of eateries and cafes within walking distance of our Lodge and even more choice in the colourful town of Takaka, a 10 minute drive from Pohara. You are more than welcome to let us know your preference and we will book a table for you. Please keep in mind that most restaurant kitchens in the Bay close around 8.00pm and that last seating is around 7.45pm.
